Perplexity Spaces Not Syncing — How to Fix It
Perplexity Spaces may fail to sync across devices, causing custom instructions, prompts, or shared content to appear missing or outdated on one or more of your devices. This issue is commonly seen by users who access Perplexity on multiple platforms such as mobile and desktop simultaneously. It typically stems from session inconsistencies, connectivity problems, or unsaved Space configurations.
Why does this error happen?
How to fix it
Log Out and Log Back In on All Devices
Sign out of your Perplexity account on every device you use, then sign back in with the same credentials. This refreshes your authentication token and forces each device to pull the latest Space data from the server, resolving most session-related sync failures.
Check Your Internet Connection on Both Devices
Ensure both devices have a stable, active internet connection before attempting to sync. Perplexity Spaces require a consistent connection to push and pull updates; switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data mid-session can interrupt the sync process and cause data to appear out of date.
Re-Save Your Space Instructions
Open the affected Space, navigate to its settings or instructions panel, and manually re-enter or confirm your custom instructions before clicking Save. Even if the instructions appear to be present, re-saving forces the server to register the latest version and propagate it to all linked devices.
Confirm You Are Using the Same Account on All Devices
Go to your account profile on each device and verify that the email address shown is identical across all of them. Spaces are tied to a single Perplexity account, so logging in with a different account — even a secondary one — will result in a completely separate set of Spaces with no shared data.
Pro tip
Always click the explicit Save button after editing Space instructions rather than navigating away from the page, as Perplexity does not auto-save Space configurations — unsaved changes will be lost and never synced to other devices.
